AI and Security
AI is popping up everywhere. Many people use AI to answer questions, find legal documents, or support numbers. And sure, AI can save time. But it can also point you in the wrong direction.
There is a growing security risk called AI poisoning and businesses need to understand it before it leads to security breaches, like fraud or stolen accounts.
What is AI poisoning?
AI poisoning happens when scammers put false information online so AI tools learn it and repeat it as fact. This can include fake customer support numbers, misleading “help” comments, or links that lead to fake login pages.
AI tools pull information from public sources like forums, reviews, and comment sections. If enough bad information exists, AI may present it as facts, even if it is not.
Smarter Does Not Mean Safer
Why This Matters Right Now
As AI becomes more common at work, businesses need stronger controls around security, identity, and governance. Microsoft sees this shift clearly. That is why they recently announced Microsoft 365 E7, a new license built for organizations that are moving beyond basic AI use and thinking more seriously about security.
What Is Microsoft 365 E7?
Microsoft 365 E7 brings together Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and advanced security, identity, and governance tools into one offering.
The goal is to help businesses use AI while keeping users, data, and systems protected. Microsoft is not releasing E7 just to add another license. They are responding to a bigger change in how businesses use AI at scale.
Microsoft 365 E7 will be available starting May 1, 2026.
Is E7 Right for Your Business?
E7 is not the right fit for every organization. It makes the most sense for businesses that are expanding Copilot use, want stronger security and identity protection, and are thinking long‑term about AI governance.
